A disabled Parking bay has been taken away from parents that use this. It is extremely dangerous for not only the children and parents of RHS but also the public using this.

Not enough room for the children at the moment to walk along the path at the best of times

Not acceptable outside a primary school

This is an extremely dangerous place to have a bus stop. The public are loitering right outside a primary school. I have personally seen a number of people nearly knocked over due to this

An terrible placement. Unsafe for school children, passers by and commuters alike

For school parents that need to use a car, this bus stop causes reduced visibility to the pavement (pedestrians, bikes and scooter users) due to the congestion it attracts around the school entrance.

An accident waiting to happen between the Busstop and petrol station crossings

It makes no sense to cause more congestion directly outside a Primary School. This is dangerous, especially so near to the entrance to the petroleum station also.

I disagree with the location of the bus stop/pontoon. It does not benefit the local community and it compromises the safety of Rutherford House School pupils and staff. We have suggested adequate locations and I hope TfL will relocate the bus stop.

Another concern is for the elderly and those with impaired mobility who are wanting to catch the bus and are having to navigate the school crowds on the adjacent footpath and oncoming cyclists.

I am a parent of a child in reception. This bus stop should be absolutely moved back to its original place. It adds congestion to an already congested pavement and should never ever have been placed in front of the school.

The changes made by TFL to the road directly in front of Rutherford House School were rushed, poorly thought out and should not have been implemented. The presence of a bus stop directly in front of the school building has exacerbated an already peak hours congested area, putting the safety of children and Carers at risk of injury and harm. The mingling of school users and public transport users poses additional, avoidable health risks, COVID 19 in particular. Please take immediate action to safeguard our children.

Totally at odds with the School Streets and school pollution reduction initiatives that other local schools are hugely benefitting from. As well as obvious public health and safety concerns. This should never have been approved in the first place.

Before this, there was positive discussion between the school and TFL to make the area safer for the children. Very sorry that seems to have gone by the wayside

Whole heartedly agree with this petition. It is our duty to put the children’s safety first and do hope that action will be taken ASAP

The bus stop outside the school should never have been considered let alone implemented.

It was a bad plan to move the bus stop in front of the school. It has created a hazard and its only a matter of time that an accident takes place.

The pavements are too congested. When I compare Rutherford with St Anselm’s who have a school street system in place the contrast is truly remarkable. We need as much room as possible. We would also love our disabled spot back for our disabled pupils.
