This is extremely disappointing. It reveals that our governor does not think the state board of education is very important. if he really felt it was important, he would appoint people who have the appropriate experience in and passion for public education.

Matthew Brown would be in charge of a committee he's had zero experience in. Having never attended public schools, and not having a education degree leaves Matthew Brown incapable of carrying out his duties with the best interest of the citizens of Alabama.

Governor, now, in less than 4 years, you now have made 2 unqualified appointments to the State Board of education, since Tracie Roberts resigned. I ran against Tracie Roberts for that seat, so why not appoint ME?

Appointee does not hold a college degree from an accredited institution (at least not when he "earned" his degree), has never spent a day in formal education (home schooled, then to Pensacola "Christian" College), and has repeatedly refused to support public schools in lower Alabama. Remove this clown from his post, stat!

Appointee does not appear to meet the qualifications of either job that costs Taxpayers a sum of about $100,000 for on-the-job training. Which job will be half-done, not done, done wrong? Very expensive risk for no valid reasons.

Anybody that would absolutely refuse to send their kids to public schools does not need to be one of the ones setting policy. I heard that he was only appointed so that Bentley could get some help passing his budget.
