As an educator, I want people who value my profession to make decisions for me. It is unfathomable to think that someone who kept his family from public education would sit on a board that governs many aspects of my profession. Please reconsider his position. He has no experience or insight to fulfill this position.

Please reconsider this choice. It is a sad day in Alabam and for teachers when someone is appointed to this position who is against public education from the beginning. What good can come from this? It's time to put aside personal agendas and truly focus on the children in Alabama.

Why should Matthew represent Baldwin County Board of Education if - his own kids are too GOOD to attend Baldwin County schools. The big question is how could he possible understand a public school system that he has never been part of?

I am a public school teacher and a concerned citizen. I ask you to please reconsider this decision. You don't have to look deep to see that Mr. Brown is absolutely NOT the right person for this job. This appointment is very disturbing to me. I know MANY quality advocates and educators who would be a better fit if you need suggestions. :-)

If you care about education in Alabama, the recent appointment of Matt Brown by Gov. Bentley should concern you. Mr. Brown has NEVER worked at any school, he has NEVER volunteered at any school and he will NOT let his children attend public school, yet he is now trusted to determine what is best for our public school children. Are the State of AL. District 1 children truly important to Matt Brown or are they simply a steppingstone to a larger career in the political arena?
