Reconsider SBOE appointment of Matthew Brown

Rescind Brown's name immediately from the Bd of Education. We need an experienced educator with a legitimate knowledge base regarding Public Education, Curriculum and The Common Core.

If I have to be highly qualified to be a classroom teacher, I would expect our board members to have an appreciation for those that work and attend school in the public classroom setting!

This is so embarrassing for our state. Please reconsider.

I think that there are many more qualified candidates for this job.

Mr. Brown doesn't respect public education enough to have attended public schools himself & has stated that his children will never attend public schools. I have contacted the Governor's office and ccd Superintendent Bice asking that this nomination be rescinded.

People who sit on this board should be dedicated to the improvement of public education through the funding, academic objectives, and growth of all our systems. Mr. Brown is the ANTITHESIS of these standards! Please reconsider for all the citizens of Alabama.

Please reconsider this appointment and place someone who has demonstrated his or her commitment to public education in the state of Alabama to the state school board.

Respect teachers, parents, and students enough to assign someone who has experience and knowledge in education.

Obviously Mr Brown's private education was lacking when it came to Mathematics. A set amount of space is only going to accommodate a certain number of students. With the schools already over crowded and the steady increase in Baldwin County's population continuing simple math points to the need for more infrastructure to be added to the school system. Was the Digital Renaissance a poorly planned and wasteful program? Absolutely Is it right to indict the entire school system and cause potentially disastrous future side effects to our community by denying the obvious need for additional schools to be constructed? Absolutely not Mr Bentley, Please find someone else with a properly balanced and educated view for such a position.

Please reconsider appointing Matthew Brown to the State Board of Education. We need someone that has experience in education and wants what is best for our children. He doesn't even have accurate information about the counties he has been appointed to serve.
