While I agree with finding efficiencies in operations, I don't believe limiting capacity during week days is a good idea as it limits growth potential .... Alternative would be to focus marketing efforts on attracting spring break, college breaks and HS breaks to attract skiers for week long visits....Ontario, NBA, NS and north east US. Limiting terrain during the week will limit potential. I also believe rebuilding the St. John's market of the 80's and 90's will provide a sustainable customer base. Customer experience training for all employees engaging them in growth goals would also provide value. I look forward to Season 2015 at Marble!

I believe that some of the park features could have been set up better and construction of the jumps were a little off i.e. the landings and takeoffs didn't match up properly which added an increase to injury risk. For example if the landing is too steep, decrease the angle of the landing area or make the jump more poppy (increase the angle) whatever is best for you.

Looking at the activity on this campaign, I can tell that we can get some very valuable advice on petitioning experience from you. I only have 4 questions, if any of you have 60 seconds to provide us meaningful insight on your experiences:
1) If you could not sign/create petitions anymore, what would be your biggest worry?
2) In regards to petitioning, are there any problems that you encounter that hinder the success of the petition?
3) What prompted you begin petitioning and supporting other petitions?
4) We are working on new ways to allow campaigners and supporters to attach monetary pledges to their petition campaigns. Does this seem like it is worthwhile to work on?

Good research, and reasonable proposal. All we can hope is that Dept of Tourism can assess this proposal with an open mind. As a first time visitor of Marble I noticed many of these issues. Good luck

Also, chair lift operators don't check passes, which results in many people skipping the purchase of a day pass altogether and just skiing "for free". Proper enforcement of pass checks should be established to avoid this loss in profit.

Ive been working in and around Marble for a few years now, and I would like to see marble accommodate some of the other business with discounts and what not, considering we give them discounts, free tours etc...

If this petition makes it to the head of Marble's management, the very first thing they'll probably say is that the demand is just not there to keep the hill open. I am writing this while this petition has made it to 90 signatures, (probably the 90 ski/ snowboarder die-hards who are out most weekends), however it goes to show that the ski population of this area is very low. Furthermore, if what I heard was correct, half of the people out riding on Marble's closing weekend came from st Johns. By saying this I don't mean to justify the reason why they closed so early, but if this petition is to be successful it will have to take that argument into account. They need more people!
What they can do about that ties in with the hours of operation (10 a.m till 4 p.m Monday to Thursday) and (9 a.m till 4 p.m Friday to Sunday). During week days there is virtually no one on the hill. As someone pointed out, the hill is inaccessible during the week for people with a 9 to 5 job. The hill also advertised night skiing to Grenfell students however, most students finish class at 4:30 while night skiing only lasts from 4 till 8 p.m. To push the hours of operation latter into the day and have night skiing till 10 p.m. every day/night of the week would make the hill much more accessible for those working and students alike.
