We, the women of Pepperdine University, petition to recolonize the Sigma Kappa sorority at Pepperdine University. By recolonizing Sigma Kappa on campus, we would build upon the Greek community that many young women consider as an integral part of their time at Pepperdine. Being a part of a sorority allows hardworking, driven, intelligent, and forward-thinking women to become involved in a philanthropy based sisterhood that helps them grow with values and strength. Sigma Kappa’s mission statement reads, “To provide women lifelong opportunities and support for social, intellectual, and spiritual development by bringing women together to positively impact our communities.”This encapsulates how we, the women of Pepperdine, could benefit from the recolonization of this chapter. Below 50 dedicated women have signed the petition and agree to become members of the Sigma Kappa sorority if it were to become recolonized at Pepperdine University.
