Recognize the San Francisco Eagle as a ‘Historically Designated’ cultural site

We are currently entering unknown times that very well maybe the end of to many historical locations in SF. Please to not allow that to happen to the SF Eagle. I, like many others, have a super personal connection to the location that allowed me to be myself in the gay leather community. I have supported and donated to the Eagle Plaza to help preserve the area and the establishment. So when you walk across the the crosswalk at 12th and Harrison street and noticed the crosswalk is in a image of the Leather Pride Flag, the funds for that creation were donated by me in memory of my long time husband, Mr. Paul Needham.

One of the first bars I was taken to right after I "came out." I learned that I didn't have to live the stereotypical gay "lifestyle" and was free to be myself. Gays are just as diverse as straights and bars like this help teach that lesson.

The Eagle has been a place to truly feel like a part of the community.

I support Eagle !! It has helped a variety of non profit groups & individuals.. it has helped individuals become leaders within the community. It is a mainstay of where people around the world congregate to share there themselves with others, making new friends or rekindling old ones. It is a ROCK of our community!! Thank you

It's not SF without the SF Eagle

The Eagle was a home away from home for forever and when quarantine is over I as well as thousands upon thousands of great Eagle SF lovers around the world would love to return to celebrate for many many years to come. Myself, The San Francisco Pool Association, The Aids Emergency Fund /Breast Cancer Ovarian Emergency Fund, Mamas Family, The Castro Lions Club of Lions International through me and the organizations that I’ve worked with to help raise funds all did that through and held at the Eagle San Francisco where it stands today. Thank you and please let’s continue to celebrate LIFE there. A true San Francisco treasure. Onward, Upward and Forward We Go. Many blessings!’

Don't let them die ... the world is a small town and what there happens, can be also in other Town all over the world.....

The Eagle is an essential part of the gay community. Historically it’s been a place that has embraced everyone no matter how they identify or what their expression may be.

We must save this space. Our Leather culture is loosing many bars and spaces that we gather at.

Long live live music! And precious history!

The SF Eagle was home even before I moved to SF. It’s a pillar of the community and needs to stick around.

The SF Eagle is living history belonging to a community who’s history is sadly lacking. We are losing so many places that mean something to people of the leather community all over the world. Please save this building and give it the place in history that it deserves.

The SF Eagle is a cherished landmark. It needs to be protected.
