Making the SF Eagle a historic site is important to the early foundational identity of the San Francisco LGBTQ community.

The San Francisco leather community has played a key role in the evolition of the US & local LGBTQ communities. The SF Eagle is a cornerstone of the SF leather community and is considered a landmark worldwide. The SF Eagle should be considered an Historic Landmark as part of the SF official Leather Historic District.
