Attention all Madisonville Intermediate School parents and parents of future Madisonville Intermediate School children!! Did you know that your 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders DO NOT have recess everyday? Well, I didn't either. So, now I am petitioning to give our children back their daily recess and would love to have your support. The benefits of unstructured play time for children have been researched and show that daily recess improves standardized test scores, attentional focus, overall academic excellence, improves attendance, decreases ADHD, anxiety, and anger. is essential for children to develop social skills, problem solving skills, and

My son rides the bus he get home right before 5 bed time is 8 doesn't leave him much play time after homework.
Children should not be cooped up in a room for hours just to learn how to pass a test. They need to get exercise and be able to stretch there legs. They need to be kids. Education is important but all everyone is focused on theses days is a test. There is more to life than passing a test.
This is one reason we have over weight kids. Let Those babies burn energy and have a break from School work!
My husband and I are considering putting my daughter in Madisonville school when we move later this year. After hearing that they don't give the kids recess everyday, it has really made me not want to place my daughter there. Children need, and deserve recess.
Really upset as a parent of two 5th graders it’s not right. We as parents get frustrated an overwhelmed an need a break from work. Please give my kids back they play time.
Kids need to have recess for their body’s and minds to recharge. Plus it’s meant for teacher and students to use the restroom not during learning time
Recess should NEVER be taken out of school.

Recess is such an important part of the social well being of children . It allows an outlet to decompress before applying themselves to academics and it plays a vital role in social skills as the children play and develop social bonds.
