Attention all Madisonville Intermediate School parents and parents of future Madisonville Intermediate School children!! Did you know that your 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders DO NOT have recess everyday? Well, I didn't either. So, now I am petitioning to give our children back their daily recess and would love to have your support. The benefits of unstructured play time for children have been researched and show that daily recess improves standardized test scores, attentional focus, overall academic excellence, improves attendance, decreases ADHD, anxiety, and anger. Playtime is essential for children to develop social skills, problem solving skills, and exercise their creative minds.
