Reception of Holy Communion

I have always regarded reception of communion in the hand as illicit. Unfortunately a lot of people do not know any better. Originally reception in the hand was an exception now on the tongue is considered to be only the exception.

I fervently believe communion on the tongue shows greater reverence for Jesus, for the reasons described herein, and I am in favour of the suggestions made.

Considering the way many sincere, well-intentioned but ill-instructed Catholics currently receive the eucharist (with the nearly imperceptible and sometimes invisible bow or nod, the sidestep, the walking away while raising the sacred host to their mouths, etc.) there is nothing in their behaviour to indicate to children, youths or non-catholics that they actually believe what they say they do. On the contrary, they send the opposite message.

We would like to go back to receiving Communion on the tongue and we could also go back to altar rails. This would speed the process and there would be no need for so many Eucharist Ministers, especially if they are not dressed modestly.

I believe with all my heart that this is the correct way to receive Our Lord

Whatever will bring people to more reverance for the Real Presence should be encouraged.

Our Hands are dirty

The more we show reverence for His Body the more Jesus will bless His Church = all members (Clergy and lay)

Christ wont be fooled or fooled with

Being dependent on the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist means being dependent on the hands of priests. A good example, Jesus said to Peter, "Feed my lambs, feed my sheep!" Therefore when receiving communion on the tongue we become dependent on the hands of Peter's followers, his priests, their hands. And they feed us and not we ourselves. The danger when receiving communion on the hand we are putting ourselves to an equal role of priests, as though we are even tempted to say and at risk to think that priesthood is a thing of the past, "So now, move away priests, lay people are taking over!" Precisely this is the danger. We should be expressing through the Eucharist our dependency on priests to feed us the lambs and not our independency of priests. Let them be our hands and let them feed us. Why are we afraid of making the distinction between what is sacred and what is not? Why? Could it be that we are ashamed of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament? Is that what it is? Are we ashamed! Have certain bishops with their power of awe behind them made us feel ashamed of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament? Have they manipulated us to feel ashamed?

I have been receiving communion on the tongue for many years now and believe kneelers should be installed again.

Reverence for our Lord is of the utmost importance. I feel that the loss of particles increases when the Parish Priest uses a very big host at the consecration.

We fully agree! Why should priests use at consecration a very big host? Could this increase loss of particles?
