Proper reverence and respect must be given to our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Particles of the Holy Eucharist left in human hands desecrates the divinity of our Lord and does not show respect at all.

There is not respect or reverence in my Parish. People go up to the tabernacle and do not genuflect, just take out the
Sacred Host and carry on. Of course not all people do that. It is a lack of Faith. I will pray that this will happen.

In the last 30 odd years I have only been to 2 parishes where everyone receives the Blessed Eucharist on the tongue. There have been too many practises lost over the years and this is the most important.

At Marian Valley, Canungra, Qld, it appears that most Communicants receive Holy Communion on the tongue

totally agree support kneeling and receive Jesus on the tongue all my family kneels and receive on the tongue i find some priests refuse to give us communion

It's time the Catholic Church clergy unapologetically professed the necessary state and reverence required to receive the holy eucharist in order to curb the increasing sacrilege and ignorance of the real presence and its resulting decline in mass attendance.

I thank God very much for this petition. I was recently stopped from receiving Holy Communion kneeling down on the tongue by the parish priest at Port Macquarie three weeks ago. I think the problem is that people do not believe in the true presence of Our Lord in the Consecrated Host. If we believe that he is truly present Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity than this would not be an issue and there would be no need for this petition. Also, priests must allow people the option who would like to receive Holy Communion kneeling down on the tongue as it has been the practice of the Catholic church for many,many years.

All of our sins against Christ are but a ripple in the endless ocean of his mercy, but that shouldn't be an excuse for the church to stop educating and enforcing whtat it knows to be true to the masses.

How can we receive Him on our hands? It is so much easier and practical to have a communion rail and people kneeling around it. Why are we so inefficient in this regard? Tragically there have been a few times when I have seen people take the Eucharist in their hand and put Him in their pockets. There was only one time where the person left the church immediately. This person was confronted by a parishioner outside. Another time was on live TV at Bart Cummings funeral. I do not who that was, I think a politician.
