Reception of Holy Communion

A crying shame to see the kneelers removed from our parish recently. One of the last places apart from the Latin rite that provided an option to kneel and take communion on the tongue. Canberra, Australia

I am so glad I have seen this petition , I have a daughter preparing for her first holy communion and want to share this with my parish.

No communion in hand...ever.

I commit myself to only receive the Holy Eucharist on my tongue! Out of utmost respect to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Communion in the hand makes it easier to steal the sacred hosts. Unless someone has a physical problem, healthy people should kneel preferably for holy communion. If they can't kneel they should make a bow as the cathecism teaches. If people are going to receive holy communion on the hand they should at least put the sacred host in their tongue in front of the priest,so that the sacred host might be consumed. There is less danger with communion on the tongue because if someone knew they had to put the sacred host in their tongue, they wouldn't have as many opportunities for stealing it,because the person's saliva would dissolve the sacred species faster,making it harder to use the consecrated host for evil purposes. Many satanists steal consecrated hosts for black masses. I don't mean to offend anyone. Protecting our Lord in the eucharist is important.

The communion rail is a very fast way for the priest to administer the sacrament without the use of laypeople. It is faster than receiving standing with multiple laypeople doing what only the priest's hands were consecrated to do.

I wish for the practice of kneeling and receiving Communion by mouth by the priest to come back to the church

My comments are that , the bishops should advice their priest to be open to the congregation as when they see things are not in conjunction the magisterium to the church.

I wholeheartedly concur that we must bring back respect & reverence to the reception of Holy Communion by receiving Our King, Lord & Saviour kneeling and one the tongue. This was the only way I have been receiving Holy Communion despite some priests refusing me the opportunity but now it is generally agreed that ppl should be allowed and be given that opportunity. So perhaps parishes should look at introducing kneelers once again. I can guarantee that when we bring back the sacredness into the celebration of the Liturgy most especially in the reverence & respect of the reception of Holy Communion than and only than will we experience ppl returning to our Catholic Faith and we will also receive more priestly & religious vocation.

Please restore to the former way of receiving Jesus in Holy Communion, kneeling and on the tongue. Alter servers with a paten to further minimize any chance of particles falling. Thank you very much.

reverence and respect, very important petition

There's an urgent need for people to re-engage in the belief in the true presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. When that occurs a heightened reverence and security in what is offered should occur

Yes, I believe that the traditional method of receiving communion must be retained to obtain more graces from the Lord and that He is so much offended with the present practice and becomes sacrilegious communion in one way or another. The King of Kings needs due respect, we have to kneel while receiving Him. My prayers that this practice will win approval the soonest. The priests as well must be enlightened with this practice 'coz some of them are annoyed with this practice.
