Petition to Censure and or Potentially Recall U.S. Senator Patty Murray, (D) Washington:

This petition is to survey the population of registered Washington State voters who disapprove of the actions of Senator Patty Murray, and wish to officially censure her and may have interest in recalling Senator Murray from her elected position as Senior United States Senator from the State of Washington.

The recall of elected officials is allowed under Washington law, pursuant to Washington Constitution Article I § 33, on the grounds of physical or mental lack of fitness, incompetence, violation of oath of office, official misconduct, or conviction of certain felony offenses.

It is felt that Senator Murray has shown incompetence in her duties by failing to adequately represent the majority of Washingtonians. It is also felt that Senator Murray has violated her oath of office by failing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. She has by her actions violated the rights of the State of Washington and its citizens as guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Senator Murray actions and voting record show that she has gone beyond the powers granted elected officials under Article I section 8 of the United States Constitution, and that she no longer represents the common citizen of the State of Washington, but instead is swayed by special interest groups and party politics that are so prevalent in Washington DC.

Furthermore Senator Murray is causing grave damage to the security and stability of the nation by crippling the people of the United States with indefensible and unmanageable debit through her actions. The people of Washington deserve to be adequately represented at all levels of government by elected individuals who fully realize that they work for “We the People”, and that they must listen to their constituents and vote according to the will of the people and not their own whims or personal agendas.

If there is sufficient interest in this potential recall of Senator Murray, which will be evidenced by the number of registered Washington voters who sign this petition, then a formal recall of Senator Murray will be initiated following the protocol set forth in the Washington Code for such recalls. Please note that persons signing this petition must be registered Washington voters for their signature(s) to be considered, and that no person can sign the petition more than once.
