This building is a centre point for Sydenham both physically and for the community. It is unconscionable that the promise to rebuild it has not been honoured.

How does this keep happening to local pubs? If it keeps going there'll be nowhere left for local people to meet. It's sad it got so far before it was listed - and that this is the only way to save it - but it's time to turn it back to a space for people to enjoy.

my parents had their wedding reception there as did my sister. its part of sydenhams heritage. it must be restored complete with the greyhounds outside, otherwise developers will pull down anything in their way to make their thousands, they don't care about history. make an example of them.

An absolute disgrace and a flagrant disregard for planning and the community. How dare they . What do you have to do these days to keep a building 'listed'. I for one am furious that Lewisham Council have allowed this to happen.

we need this historic building returned to it's former glory. Sydenham needs its heritage maintaining for the community today and in the future.

This was the first pub I went to in the 90 s, we should hurt purelake in there wallet and not purchase there produce.you very right the area around the pub is an eye sore, it's really not the kind of attraction L B C or purelake should want to promote Sydenham or them selfs

Can't believe the condition it's been left in! Surely it should have been listed years ago! Hope things work out for the pub. Good memories of drinking here over the years As an after thought. What became of the tiled backroom. It a 'was' a perfectly preserved Victorian room. Probably destroyed or went the same way as the stone greyhounds!

Born and bred in Sydenham. You have destroyed Bell Green where I grew up. It looks a mess. Please keep some of Sydenham the way it was. This pub surely is a listed building why have you allowed this to happen

I spent many hours/years sitting on the greyhounds at the front of the pub. Everytime my brother and I went shopping with our mum, would run to be the first one to sit on them. Have pics to prove it. Such happy memories. Please rebuild - its part of Sydenham.

So much for the 'undertakings' and 'assurances' on which councils and government put so much weight. I suggest the Cpuncil needs to appoint an independent body to examine its own role, and that of the councillors and officers, past and present.
