We can't have too many charming historical buildings like this to grace our High Street.

Councils need to recognise the value of our heritage. Too many of them sweep away the past in an attempt to cut costs.

There is so much great development happening along Sydenham, it would be such a shame not to restore the Greyhound.

Such a shame the pub is currently such an eyesore for what is a rapidly developing high street.

Lewisham please honour your promises. I know we are only Sydenham but you do benefit from our council taxes.

I thought that there were to be more powers for local people to influence planning decisions. Purelake seems determined to get its own way and Lewisham appears helpless to do anything. Mr Bullock, please bring some civility and morality back into our developers.

I pass by most days and cannot believe that Purlake/Lewisham still haven't got this sorted out. So much time and money has gone into improving the high street and yet this sad shell stills empty at the top.

Dear lewisham council, please can I urge you to work quickly and doggedly to resolve the issue of the Greyhound Pub, at the centre of Sydenham. What will it take to resolve this damage cause by Purelake and bring this valued asset back to our High Street. Your faithfully, Andrew

Shame on you Purelake.
