Shame on Lewisham for allowing this to happen in the first place. I know for a fact they have no deep seated interest in buildings with any heritage if they stand in the way of development

I would love for the pub to be reinstated, it was part of my growing up, watching bands etc so for me forms am essential part of Sydenham!

I agree it's a disgrace & a real eyesore. Hope this helps to put pressure on Purelake. Someone suggested Purelake's boss was the brother of Lewisham's Mayor. I believe it's the brother of a Lewisham MP, i.e. Jim Dowd

It is a disgrace that the various authorities have permitted the Greyhound to end up the mess it is now. This historical building must be rebuilt and permitted to carry on as a pub/inn.

Rumour is wrong Fact is Director Gerry Dowd is the brother of Jim Dowd - MP for Lewisham West & Penge - which includes The Greyhound. Which, if he was doing his job, would be leading this fight.
