Re-opening a process that was clearly very painful but nonetheless 'decided' only ensures more animosity and division. The only 'Rotary-way' forward is to focus on doing good for others and treating all with respect.

I was devastated to learn of several members, who in recent days have resigned from the Club. These women have worked hard and made many personal sacrifices to support our Club. It has made me question my membership, and whether the demonstrated values of our Club align to mine. I’m hoping we can move on from the situation, and not attempt to re-prosecute an outcome that rightly sanctioned behaviour that is bluntly totally unacceptable by today’s standards. Let’s focus on the future and ensure that all members treat others respectfully at all times.

I haven't signed the petition because I have already resigned (not due to this matter - I am going to join my local regional club). I am only partially aware of what has gone on at RC Melbourne, but really hope that the club can overcome it. RC Melbourne has many outstanding features, but the communication style to and about women isn't always appropriate from all members - there is a cultural issue to deal with. That I have experienced. I am friends with an ex-member who chose to just quietly leave left because of inappropriate behaviour from a male member of the club. Has the whole club watched MsRepresented on iview. I recommend it. I do hope that it is sorted out, and that the whole is not brought down by the actions of the few. All the best for the future

We need to keep the four way test to the forefront as we go forward.

Thanks for this great idea to show the Board and President how the 'ordinary' (none of you are that!) member feels. There may be some procedural hoops to jump through, but squashing this mean move now is less of a risk to our future than letting the question fester through yet another process.

Melbourne Rotary is a wonderful club and does so much good. It has been made great by the members over 100 years. It is a privilege to be a member of such a great club and I, too, support those who want to see the club flourish in the future. Let's continue to move forward.

Respect for both men and women is very important. However, when women represent slightly more than 50% of the general population but represent significantly less than that proportion in the Club, then unless we make it a safe environment for women it’s only logical that membership is going to be much more difficult to grow.

I, like so many others, have been appalled by what is happening and am relieved to see a positive way forward out of a highly destructive period in our Club. I totally support all points in the petition and reinforce Garry Fowler's comments.
