This road has not been fixed for years.

Nearly lost my dog in the potholes! No but seriously they’re dangerous pls fix the road!

I am a very regular visitor along this road and it has just got worse and worse. It's really quite disgusting to be honest..... shame on you Byron Shire Council.

Please fix this road is at its end lots of people work and live here

The road is just patches on patches, Really rough and terrible to drive on

I have spent a great deal of money repairing my car and wheels as a direct result of the outrageous condition of our road I appreciate it is a difficult job and lots of roads in the shire to consider but there must be some way on objectively assessing, grading and comparing the various roads in the shire needing repair. If such an assessment were done I’m confident Kingsvale Road would rank amongst the very worst! We are currently searching for a more robust car… which is a huge expense we can’t really afford at the money but have no choice due to this terrible road

I regularly use this road to visit friends. My mobile work takes me on nearly every road in the Byron Shire. Kingsvale Road is definitely one of the most unsafe & worst to drive in the Shire.

The road is dangerous for little cars

Extremely poor road condition, disgraceful that it’s been like this for so long.

I have wrecked two wheels in this potholed.

I visit at the end of Kingsvale Rd frequently. So far it is responsible for 2 flat tyres. It is without doubt the worst maintained road I have ever driven on.

Everyone who visits me in Kingsvale Rd complains about the state of the road. Our cars have required early replacement of light bulbs, tyres, & wheel bearings, as well as wheel alignments regularly. Traffic has increased (specially since the Drug Rehab centre was approved & expanded, contributing we estimate about 20-30% more traffic). Approval of additional dwellings increase traffic with absolutely no consideration of the capacity of the road. 'Developer Contributions for Rural Roads' never trickles down to road improvements. Council accepts the laughable ‘Traffic Assessments’ of local town planners submitting the DA’s. We need a new road - not another patch-up job, or a cosmetic spray of bitumen & gravel of barely a centimetre cover, like the last one that, like elsewhere deteriorates within weeks. Council has approved the increase in housing density of this area enormously, so increase the standard of the only bit of infrastructure they’re responsible for … not water, not sewerage, not power - just the road!

Please fix our road

I fully support this petition. As a resident of Kingsvale rd for 21 years I can honestly say that this has been the situation for years. The state of the rd also adds to noise due to the very rough surface & to environmental damage.. because drivers have to veer off the road onto the verge to avoid very large potholes, this causes erosion gullies to form, which then washes away topsoil. Added to this, there has been zero invasive species management, which means that invasive plants & vines are growing out of control, damaging verge trees which then causes branches to drop onto the road after heavy rain or wind. Please do something. We don’t have town water or sewerage management. Surely we can have a decent road.

Has needed an upgrade for a very long time. I have lived here for over 20 years.
