I, being a Reading, MA resident, support the proposal to leverage currently under-performing Industrial and Business zones at a density typical of mixed-use developments (e.g., 35 units / acre) and with mandatory affordable housing requirement, for Reading to comply with the MBTA Communities law.
This approach results in minimal or no
impact on residential areas while advancing the stated priorities in the 2023 Town of Reading Housing Production Plan:
Focuses on Priority Development Areas
Strengthens Inclusionary Zoning
Protects Safe Harbor status - prevent hostile 40Bs

Keep the development in the business zones where it actually makes sense instead of ruining the nice parts of town. Good plan.
