It scares me to think the people making these decisions care about our town, it's hard enough trying to find a parking space without having to pay excessive rates, why bother even going into Whitehaven, it's cheaper and easier to park at Workington!

this is outrageous is this council just trying to make whitehaven a ghost town why would visitors want to pay 1.80 an hour when theres sod all there apart from charity shops and take aways

People from the town already go elsewhere to shop, surely this will end, the already small amount of decent shops we have left in the town.

This charge is a joke. Encourage more business into the town rather than driving current shoppers away.
