Give the people of Whitehaven a break, 1.80 an hour for what? How about encouraging visitors with free street parking every weekend for shoppers?

This is scandalous

Whitehaven has never been in such a state and the fact that you are introducing more parking charges will only compound this problem. Stop being so bloody greedy and try focusing your attention on bringing visitors in and regenerating the town.

get the selfafeild staff to stop thaking up our space and get them to come on the bus as there is no car car parking for people in whitehaven and if this go a head you are telling people to go way and they will not come in to whitehaven and by the whitehaven will be a ghost town soon

There is very little yo come to Whitehaven for now, the parking charges would make it even less likely that people would come here. Stop using Albion square as an excuse to the towns prosperity picking up!

It's not even £1.80 in parts of Central London

parking restrictions are supposed to be for controlling traffic safety not for financial income

Utterly disgusting. There's barely any shops in Whitehaven unless you count charity shops, cafe's and hair dresser's. Entice bigger/better shops to the town and 'maybe' £1.80/hour would be paid.

Private parking for companies have scammed thousands out of shoppers in Whitehaven and now the council want a bite of the cherry. Disgusting behaviour and it will be the end of OUR town. I'll see you all in Workington

This will kill small businesses in all the areas where they're planning to implement parking meters.
