Whitehaven is struggling to survive as it is, a cheaper parking rate would be far more likely to encourage people to start shopping in our time. This would lead to an increased spend locally and a much needed economic boost, as little as it might be, it would help. Please help our town bu trying to give it a bit of a helping hand- Workington has a fantastically cheap car park by the job centre and I really do see the attraction as to why so many from here go shopping there- it is more affordable. We need to be able to offer the same if not better parking fees

Whitehaven is struggling to survive as it is, a cheaper parking rate would be far more likely to encourage people to start shopping in our time. Please help our town bu trying to give it a bit of a helping hand- Workington has a fantastically cheap car park by the job centre and I really do see the attraction as to why so many from here go shopping there- it is more affordable. If this goes ahead Whitehaven will become a ghost town. There will be no businesses for the people housed in Albion Square to use and they are the ones with the free parking!

Should be trying to encourage people into Whitehaven - it certainly needs it! Charging a level that is similar to a large city with lots of attractions and great shops is just ridiculous as even more people will stay away!
