We, the students of Georgia Southern University and residents of Statesboro, calmly and firmly request the re-opening of platinum and primetime lounge. They are one of the few outlets for the African American race who occupy Statesboro, Georgia. We understand that violence has been upon those places recently, but with all due respect, violence is upon everyone. We are not promoting segregation, but the bars near campus are predominantly of the white race. Those nightclubs are where most of the black race at the school and in the town go to have fun and listen to music. Again we are not promoting segregation, but it is just the way things are. We ask that you please re-open these places so that we may have a place to have fun amongst one another.
