I expected more from the school and the bursar. Very poor behaviour.

The closure of the sports club is an absolute disgrace and the headmaster and the bursar in particular should be ashamed! The club was exceptionally popular and profitable under Mr Rhodes and Mr French and has now closed after one left and the other was off on long term stress. Sack the management at the school and reopen the club - the school is obviously in financial difficulty. So glad my kids don't go there anymore!!

Do the decent thing, Rishworth, and talk to us about this! If you value your local community at all, then do something positive to compensate for the shabby way you've treated us all.

The lack of gratitude and respect that school has for its members and staff is a disgrace.

Terrible that this has closed. Provides a much needed service for those in the community. Children are able to swim at the same time as adults without every lane being ' lane swimming'. It encourages rather than puts people off going because you can take children and both use the pool in different ways. For many working people , those with children and those with disabilities Sowerby Bridge pool is not appropriate.Rishworth is.

Beyond the community contribution it made a financial contribution to the school whose last accounts say that for both the 2013 and 2014 school years the school received £16k from the profit the club made and that "forecasts for the year to 2015 show the club should make a strong contribution to the Schools reserves". 2015 accounts not yet filed. Why close a pool that can be run at a profit?

Shameful the lack of notice period and the abruptness of the notification, big loss for the community. Member loyalty not even considered. Sack the bursar.

This is a wonderful facility that you kindly made available to your local community.
A place for meeting friends, making friends, making children happy and adults healthy: what a great advert for your school.
The manner in which it was closed was disappointing to say the least. I would urge those responsible to please reconsider reversing this decision. Consult & communicate. That is all that we ask.

My family love the facility and enjoyed meeting up with other families down at Rishworth. It's become an important part of the community and the way the closure has been managed is appalling.

Rishworth Pool was central to my training and wellbeing. As a secondary headteacher, it is difficult to find a resource that offers the flexibility for extensive lane swimming. My daughter is disabled and had recently started to use the pool as part of her triathlon training as a potential GB paratrialthlete. There is now no facility during the week that allows for lane swimming where I can coach and support her. Rishworth provided this option. We are devastated.

The closure and the manner this was implemented is an absolute disgrace. I certainly hope Rishworth never ask the community for anything as the answer will be no!
