Re-open Park Bridge to Light Vehicles

Dunnichen, Drumoak, AB31 5HA. This is a joint parish with Durris and also part of the Stonehaven and Lower Deeside Ward. Why are we cut off from both?

Park Bridge was the only river crossing within Unit authority ward 18 which connected Drumoak to Stonehaven and the rest of the Stonehaven and Lower Deeside Ward. Where is the sense in closing the bridge? It's bad enough that none of our council representatives live on our side of the river but now they have to make a detour to visit! Divide and rule eh!

A comprehensive independent assessment is needed to identify if there are serious structural defects and if there are, a detailed proposal to deal with the financial implications of such defects. If there are no serious defects, a detailed proposal should be instigated for the reopening of the structure.

AB316BL I now have a 12 mile round trip to my family's farm instead of 3 because of the poor and backward planing of aberdeenshire council, who have neglected to maintain this important link to a wider community and a historic monument. Drumoak and Durris have and would still have shared so many facilities which have now been severed by the lose of Park bridge. In my opinion I would prefer the communities remain intact via park bridge. Helen Bisset

This bridge is a very useful crossing and saves having to go round from Durris to Crathes

This historic old bridge is vital in connecting the communities of Drumoak and Durris - this is why it was built in the first place! We live on the Durris side and have an eight mile detour - both ways- to use our post office. We do not want to be forced to use a small post office inside a supermarket in Banchory. We want to use, support, and park close to our local PO. There are so many reasons to re- open this bridge - church, clubs, bowling, etc etc.. Re instate this bridge before it deteriorates any more, thanks to the council closing it in the first place. Please council, listen to your local people, the ones who are suffering because of this closure.

This Bridge serves a vital link between the Durris and Drumoak communities and should be restored.

I used to walk across this bridge when walking home after the bus dropped me off on the North Deeside road as we lived in Woodlands Park Durris. Then I drove to visit my parents. Please keep this bridge open to light traffic to keep local communities connected.

This bridge, even if it is to small, is a vital link between communities on each side of the Dee.

Very much missing this bridge being open, with elderly parents in Drumoak and ourselves living in Durris.

Ab31 5bw. This bridge is of historical importance and a vital link between two long-standing close communities. There are many community groups of all ages, scouts, young farmers, bowling club, women’s Institute and the local church which are all made up of members of both of these communities. With the bridge currently closed it’s a long detour via Crathes or Peterculter to our neighbouring community to participate in these groups. Our local post office and shop are across the bridge too. It’s very important that this vital link is kept open to keep the community together
