As a Army Veteran and the grandfather of one of the children who designed the badges I am angry and disgusted by the actions of the County rep who caused such bad publicity for the RBL.

I cannot believe it has been allowed to get to this point.
Even if 'rules' were not entirely followed, common sense and an understanding of the individuals involved would tell the organisation that these badges were made with the very best intention and only the interest of the Royal British Legion in mind.

It shouldn't matter as long as all money raised goes towards the poppy appeal. It's great children are involved and remember what our young men gave up their lives for.. My grandads both served and proud they didn't. Many hours stood in wind and rain collecting. Even though not in 100% health himself.. Made me proud. Lest we forget....

The young of today need to know about the 2 World Wars as well as any conflict around the World today. These two people seem to be doing a wonderful job for the RBL. It is strange that they were punished for helping to get funds for The Royal British Legion.

Disgusting behaviour I have volunteered on the poppy appeal for a few years and know how hard Ian and Mavis work. The youth pin badges were loved last year sold out quickly.

Disgusting way to treat dedicated volunteers. And the poor kids who worked so hard on their designs. I hope ian and Mavis are reinstated and the badges can be sold for Nov

These people do good for the town, unpaid! They have helped children to understand what the Poppy Appeal is for and they should be commended for their work not reprimanded.

This needs sorting and fast. The instigators of the issue also need putting in place. The sooner the better as it will soon be Remembrance Day.

Ian is one of the nicest people I know. Ian work had to help the children of wellingborougg and his commitment to fund raising is second to none.

Absolute disgrace. The heavy handed handling of this issue is outrageous. All that needs to be done was to give the badges retrospective permission.

As a proud father of one of the poppy pin winners, all I can say is that Mr Nunney has always been thoroughly professional in all of his undertakings with regards to his volunteering for the RBL.
