Wow I can't believe that they would shut this down. It is so sad because I know alot of girls who went to the Rainier so messed up and then a month or two after being there they were 100% different. They had some self esteem and mor importantly hopes and dreams. That is something that they never had before. I believe that the DTES needs a place like this. If a woman can get clean and sober in the DTES. They can acheive anything.

What a shame. Bring such a vital an important program back to the Women of the DTES. Forster empowerment, not de-powerment. It is not to hard to wrap your mind around this one folks.

Extremely beneficial to the women of the downtown eastside. They do not deserve anything less than full support from the government!!

I experienced one day of their services and I am inviting some of my friends to join me with regular visits. I am expecting to get connected and together we help to find safer ground.and place to socialize and share.

This program has proven to work and it's likely cheaper (not to mention much more humane) to fund it properly than it is to pay for the extra emergency services the lack of such a program will force the women to use. Please fund it!

I am a member of the DTES community. Places like the Ranier are necessary to support the vibrant community that exists and promote a safer place for everyone who lives here.
The DTES is a community at risk but also a community with a great deal of spirit and potential. To just sweep it away would be a tragedy of massive proportion.
Please re-consider your decision to cut funding for this programme.
