We, the parents, guardians and students of Richmond Community Schools in Richmond, IN, petition the Richmond Community School Board to ammend the Code of Student Attire which was revised May 2009 to include that pants, shorts, shirts and tops, skirts and dresses and outerwear can be plaid or striped and contain brand named logos such as Nike, Aeropostale, etc. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find items to purchase for school that fit the criteria of the current Code of Student Attire. This is also imposing additional costs to parents, guardians and students as many current wardrobes do not include plain clothing items.
We are rapidly approaching one thousand signatures in our efforts to reform the Richmond Community Schools dress code. Please take a moment to forward this petition to your personal networks so that we may reach this important milestone before presenting our case to the board.

The store selection is garbage. Everything has stripes or a brand on it now. Let our kids wear their actual clothes.

Ridiculous rules. Focus on the learning not what kind of shirt they have on.

My daughter literally has nothing to wear to school because of these rules. Fix this before fall starts.

Total waste of money buying all new stuff when the closet is full already. Keep it simple.

Why are we banning logos?? This makes no sense at all. Just another way to make shopping a total headache for parents.
