We strongly support the protection and preservation of the sacred and original Ratha Yatra tradition of Lord Jagannatha as prescribed in our ancient scriptures and centuries-old temple customs of Puri. The Ratha Yatra is not merely a public procession or cultural event; it is a deeply sacred spiritual festival connected with specific Tithis, rituals, and traditions established by the holy scriptures, the Shree Jagannatha Temple tradition, and the revered spiritual authorities of Sanatana Dharma. We respectfully urge ISKCON and all organizations worldwide to honor the traditional timing and sanctity of the sacred Ratha Yatra by observing it only within the prescribed nine-day period beginning from Ashadha Shukla Dwitiya Tithi, in accordance with the traditions of Puri, the Moola Peetha of Lord Jagannatha. This appeal is not against devotion or any organization. It is a humble effort to preserve the authenticity, dignity, cultural identity, and spiritual discipline of one of India’s greatest sacred traditions for future generations. Jay Jagannatha.
