Rasmussen College to keep physical books as a part of all courses

I don't like eBooks !!!! Please let me choose what fits my style of learning, I'm paying for it....Thank You !!!!

I like to have the option of keeping a text for reference if I want to, I can not do that with an ebook. I also feel I should have the right to re-sell my text book when I am done with it as well.

I hate ebooks! I don't like that I don't have the option to have a physical book so I can study away from the computer.

I think we should be able to choose whether or not we want ebooks, we pay a lot of money for tuition, which I am assuming is not going to decrease even though ebooks are cheaper, and I would prefer to have a physical book to read.

I personally LOVE having the actual book in hand. If I am sent an e-book I automatically return for the book. PLEASE KEEP BOOK ALIVE!!!!!

I do personally prefer the physical books as I keep them for future reference. i understand that this world is becoming more technologically advanced and it is important to know how to use the technology. However, I spend a good majority of my day staring at computer screens through work and school that sometimes it is nice to have a physical book to refer to even as a change of scenery. I also find it more convenient to be able to refer to a book sitting next to me when doing assignments that side by side screens or switching screens back and forth.

I really hope they do not go ahead and change everything to E-books. I find it hard to toggle back and forth between an assignment on the computer to an E-book, I almost need 2 ocmputers to do this. I like having the choice. I will think about transferring to a different school if they do this.

I dont like ebook!! I rather have the real deal please!

I for one like personally books. I don't like setting at my computer hours at a time reading. I have two kids to take care and take to the doctor. In my case I think a physical book is easier. I'm not carrying around my tablet to have chances to break it to read. Also I having a physical after graduation is great of because I can review myself before I start working.

The fact that we're being stripped of the option is what gets me angry. Also, some of my classes now moved to a PDF, not even an eBook. I'd like to see where my money is actually going. When I asked for guidance and assistance I was shut down with a "sorry you feel this way", I had such pride for being a Rasmussen student, this has really tarnished my view of the college as a whole.

I completely agree with keeping hard copy or at least having an option. I prefer hard copies over ebooks simply because of the convenience factor. Hard copy books are also more reliable. Nobody wants to walk around with their laptop or tablet and these types of devices also die if they aren't charged. In addition, not everyone has the luxury of owning such portable devices. This petition was a great idea!

Why should we have to be charged the same amount for materials if we can only "rent" the ebooks for the duration of that class? After that we do not get to keep them. We can't even download a copy so we can put it on our ereaders (no I am not talking about the ereaders that can install apps like the Kindle Fire. My Kindle PaperWhite cannot install apps so ebooks won't work on them). Id much rather be able to keep the book once I am done with that class.

I agree you should have a choice not everyone likes to read from a computer, think about it, I work sitting a desk, and my classes are online sometimes I want to use a book and highlight and reread without the screen timing out etc.. I find it that after a while your ebook disappears after you have paid your money. Suppose once you are finished school you need to reference back to. Take for instance I am in a accounting class I hate that I have an ebook for this class. I need a physical book. They ask you for an address to have your books shipped when you confirm your schedule yet they give you an ebook anyway.. No fair!!

Keep real books!

The real books are more reliable for studying...they more transportable!!

Physical textbooks I think are better, because while writing a paper, you can have the texbook open while typing. I also like to give my eyes a break from my computer. Staring at a screen can really wear on your eyes.

If I'm paying for the book, I should get to decide whether or not I get an ebook or a real book. I don't like ebooks. I like to read from a text book and give my eyes a break from a computer screen!
