Rasmussen College to keep physical books as a part of all courses

As we all know, everyone learns differently. Some people are able to learn effectively from an ebook. Others, like myself, struggle greatly with that method. If I am expected to pay $150 per course, I expect to have the option for the delivery method of my book.

I believe every student should have their choice. I personally like the real book instead of looking at a screen; plus as long as you have the book with you, you can read it you can not always read an e-book (power, glitch, internet connection).

I work on a computer all day long with work and school. It is a known fact that staring at a computer screen all day eventually affects the eyes and you want to add MORE time to staring at a computer screen? That should be OUR choice as it affects OUR health. It should be an option when we accept our classes as to what type of book we want then, not weeks later. If you are going to make changes, that should be one to make!

I don't want ebooks, I like real books I can be going through them when I am doing my homework now have to open another screen to see my book. I have my book later for use in other classes too. I have done this before and it has helped me.

I really would prefer not to have eBooks as the only source of textbooks. There are many older students at Rasmussen and reading on different types of screens is difficult.

While I understand the pros of ebooks, there are many cons. I believe students should at least be allowed the option to choose a hard copy if they so desire.

I think that students should be given a choice, we are paying for them. This is just another example of how Rasmussen has changed its ways over the years without asking students or evening caring about the students imput. It is getting ridiculous.

If ebooks are unavoidable then a mobile method of reading them should be provided such as an iPad, Kindle, or Nook.

Why should I pay a material fee if I don't actually get a book? I been keeping all my books for future resources, but know Rasmussen wants to take that away from me.

I never want an ebook, I want a real book!!! Stop the EBooks unless I select it which I never plan too

Ebooks are only realistic if you have a means to read them (such as a kindle,etc). I am not financially in a situation (nor do I live in an area safe enough) to lug around eletronic devices all day. People generally do not get robbed for their text books. Also, I emphatically dislike the fact of having access to the book after the class is over. Especially with my core courses, there may be information that I need review in order to stay knowledgeable in my field. Why should I pay for something that I will not be able to keep? These physical text books are the most convienient option for many students. We should at least have the option.

I feel it should be the students choice for an ebook or not. We are paying for school and whatever we feel will help us suceed should be an option.

I am a nursing student. Reference material is something I will need throughout my career. Aside from which, I find actual books much easier to work with when researching several things at once. If they decide to go with only e-books, how much will tuition go down?

THIS WOULD RUIN ME AS AN ONLINE STUDENT. If we pay for the books, we should be able to use them AFTER we finish the class!

For my senior debate I chose to argue that we should invest in more physical books than relying on electrical technology. One reason I like a physical book is because I don't need to charge it. It won't just shut down at some point when I'm reading. Another reason would be that they are sturdier. If I were to drop a laptop on a concrete floor, it would most likely receive serious damage, but with a book the worst thing is probably a torn page or scrapes. I believe they should keep the hard books or at least make it an option to chose for those who want to use them.

Books should be an option. Many students will leave Rasmussen if not given a choice between books and e-books. Rasmussen is making a big mistake if they think there won't be repercussions.

I have voiced my opinion to my campus regarding the ebooks. I prefer physical books for many reasons and have let my campus know that I think we as the PAYING STUDENTS should have the choice to get physical books or digital books. I prefer physical. I just hope that someone at the college is listening to our requests.

For as much as college is costing these days, I should be able to CHOOSE whether I want a physical textbook or e-Book. Having an e-Book has it's benefits, BUT I have found that it is most useful when there is an additional electronic device; such as an iPad. I sit in front of a computer at work all day, so there are days that I do not want to come home to sit in front of a laptop for the rest of my evening just to read my textbooks. I agree that Students SHOULD have the CHOICE to decide what form of textbook they want!

I agree i do not like ebooks, i need to have the physical book to look at and make notes in, highlight what I think is important to remeber, I have been purchasing my book even when they send me the ebooks so it is costing me more money.

I do not understand e-books i have to have information in front of to refer to as i am doing my work also I don't always have acces to a computer.
