SLOW DOWN

I believe it’s way over due that these speed limits around W. Co. Rd. 122and surrounding roads just located off of Faudree need to be lowered. Many of our children play and stand outside waiting to catch buses around 6:40am when it’s dark out and very little visibility and you have trucks rushing through our small county roads to get to work, where our children are only a few feet away waiting to catch the bus. Now it's too late for one local family and NO parent should ever have to go through such a horrible tragedy like this ever again. Let us all take a stand and RAISE our VOICE to this awareness. Located just off of Faudree Road, W.C.Rd.122 has become a highway or a shortcut for many to speed down, speed limit says 40 but you have vehicles driving 50 plus down this road where many children play. Our quite streets are not safe anymore and have many of us locals on the edge. Together lets stand in agreement and have our voices heard. Each and every one of our children are precious and a valuable gift from God. Help keep our kids safe and protect them in any way possible.. Treasure every moment you have with them for we never know when it'll be the last.

In Loving Memory of 9 year old Samuel (Sammy) Rogelio Carrasco 2-19-2014

Safety Facts Nearly 70% of children who are hurt or killed by cars are struck and injured within several blocks of their own homes! *However, children are 50% less likely to be hit and injured by cars in a neighborhood with traffic calming initiatives. *

Neighborhood speeding is a serious problem - endangering pedestrians, bicyclists, pets and property. Speeding is the single most common traffic rule violation and contributes to one third of all road traffic crashes, says the World Health Organization. Take action and help slow down speeders and stop highway traffic in our neighborhood.

I just woke up and checked the page and honestly my hands were shaking seeing how many people are finally looking at this issue. It is just so overwhelming to know that my neighbors and even strangers care about protecting these kids and ensuring no one else loses a child because someone was in too big of a hurry to drive safely.

this is a horbible tragedy! if people can not take it upon themselves to slow down and not speed as well as watching the road, then the law needs to take it upon themselves to lower the speed limit!

I have to agree ! There's so many reckless drivers down that road. Speeding for no reason! It isn't safe for kids to play outside in those street with these careless driver .

As drivers we need to slow down and be aware of our surrondings when entering all neighborhoods especially when entering others, we just never know what will jump out in front of us pet or human. I am sure when we enter our own neighborhood we know where we need to slow down because you become adapted to your surroundings and look out for your neighbors children or your own. Treat every neighborhood as your own. SLOW DOWN! LOOK OUT!

I lived on s c r 1309 my entire life as kids we played in the street and not have to worry about any cars speeding by, now the past couple if years we have had problems with people speeding down our roads at all hours of the day and night.

I think the cars & trucks go way too fast on those roads , Something must be done to stop from happening like this tragedy!

SCR 122 is NO LONGER a hwy, and hasn't been in years. it's a residential neighborhood & our children & grandchildren needs & deserves to feel safer in their own neighborhood!
