SLOW DOWN
I believe it’s way over due that
these speed limits around W. Co. Rd. 122and surrounding roads just located off
of Faudree need to be lowered. Many of our children play and stand outside
waiting to catch buses around 6:40am when it’s dark out and very little
visibility and you have trucks rushing through our small county roads to get to
work, where our children are only a few feet away waiting to catch the bus. Now
it's too late for one local family and NO parent should ever have to go through
such a horrible tragedy like this ever again. Let us all take a stand and RAISE
our VOICE to this awareness. Located just off of Faudree Road, W.C.Rd.122 has
become a highway or a shortcut for many to speed down, speed limit says 40 but
you have vehicles driving 50 plus down this road where many children play. Our
quite streets are not safe anymore and have many of us locals on the edge.
Together lets stand in agreement and have our voices heard. Each and every one
of our children are precious and a valuable gift from God. Help keep our kids
safe and protect them in any way possible.. Treasure every moment you have with
them for we never know when it'll be the last.

Safety
Facts Nearly 70% of children who are hurt or killed by cars are struck and
injured within several blocks of their own homes! *However, children are 50%
less likely to be hit and injured by cars in a neighborhood with traffic
calming initiatives. *
Neighborhood speeding is a serious problem - endangering
pedestrians, bicyclists, pets and property. Speeding is the single most common
traffic rule violation and contributes to one third of all road traffic
crashes, says the World Health Organization. Take action and help slow down
speeders and stop highway traffic in our neighborhood.
this is a horbible tragedy! if people can not take it upon themselves to slow down and not speed as well as watching the road, then the law needs to take it upon themselves to lower the speed limit!
