Every year, firecrackers contribute to dangerous levels of noise pollution, toxic air, and immense stress on children, elderly people, animals, and the environment.

We’re calling on the Government of India and GST Council to take meaningful action by:
Increasing the GST on firecrackers to discourage their widespread use
Redirecting that tax revenue to support:
• Clean-up initiatives after festivals
• Public awareness campaigns about pollution
• Development and subsidization of green alternatives
Enforcing strict noise limits, time-bound usage, and bans on harmful chemical-based crackers
This is not about cancelling celebrations—it’s about celebrating responsibly.
