Raise the Britannia Lions

Brilliant pieces of Welsh history seen by everyone who is lucky enough to visit Ynys Mon.

Well, this isn't the most important petition I've ever signed but it would be just great if the 4 lions were back in view.

Iconic and beautiful sculptures should not be hidden from view - as a young kid travelling by rail to Anglesey to me they meant you were 'there'.

It would be great to have these brilliant pieces of Welsh history seen by everyone who is lucky enough to visit Ynys Mon.

I'd support this. They are amazing and would draw many people to the area to see them. They are iconic to the Isle of Anglesey and deserve to be seen by everyone coming on to the isle.

Does anyone know where the Lions were made ?

I always used to look out for the lions when passing on the train. I believe that by moving them, they would become an iconic attraction on the bridge.

No there are no lights on the new plinths. I think you perhaps mean the two remaining sides of what was once the roofed entrance to the original tubes - we actually drive through it now.

No John, Beitish Rail had nothing to do with it. The four lions are in the same place since they were built in 1850 - they have only been hidden from sight because the road deck has been built above them. The intention is to RAISE them from their original position to road deck level.

Thanks for signing the petition. When you say "bring the lions back" they haven't been moved at all - they are still in the same place since they were erected in 1850. What we want to do is move them UP from their original position to road deck level.

Went to see lions with 82 year old friend.Very difficult to see from path at side of bridge.These magnificent structures should be raised

We always looked out for them on our summer Train Runabout

Please raise the Britannia Lions.

Brian Wills's suggestion (lower 2 and raise 2) is much more appealing than the current text of the petition. Why should road users be the sole beneficiaries? People still travel by rail!
