I am in favour of a Multi-user group RAIL TRAIL including HORSES

Being an active community is great but we forget a lot of those trails were made by horses. I remember riding on the Mission Creek greenway before it was labelled and it was lovely. Now it's pretty busy. Horseback riders shouldn't have to leave the city limits to find a place to ride.

There's absolutely no acceptable reason why horses should be prohibited from using this trail !

I totally agree with this concept, as riding long trails I find so many don't yeld causing some serious injurys in the past.

I think it's ridiculous that horses should be banned from ANY trail. It's becoming a big issue in our beautiful province as people like to complain about anything and everything. Let's all enjoy the trail together!

Everyone should be able to use this trail!

If we as tax payers are forced to pay for this rail trail I believe everyone should be able to use it, no discrimination!

Even though I don't live close to the Rail Trails I do support the use by all user groups including equestrian (riding and driving). These activities have been part of our heritage and culture for 100's of years and should not be excluded.

I agree, lets make this a horse friendly trail.

We as a horse community have a right to be yielded to.

I understand a letter has been circulated with information from the back country horse club and horse council bc providing education on the horse industry, trail blazers, horse manure facts along with the amazing fundraising and work bee capabilities of equine enthusiasts. The reality is trail networks have a responsibility to share as land use becomes a premium. There are many examples of harmonious multituse networks. I am from the Comox Valley on beautiful Vancouver Island. Our "One Spot" trail is built on the old One Spot rail Grade. Our local Back Country Horse BC Chapter has spent hours working with Regional District to help build and maintain the trail. Horse riders, cyclists, runners and walkers get along. Many stop to talk to and enjoy the horses. Urbanization should not lose sight of the roots in trail history, not exclude an amazing user group based on lack of understanding.

If the Trans Canada trail is horse friendly so should our local trails be horse friendly.

Farms were the back bone of our communities it's what the Okanagan was built on! Why are we phasing them out? We make room for skate parks and dog parks why not places for horses?

Horses built this country and they still have so much to contribute in so many ways.

A multi use trail is just that. For all non motorized vehicles. Many other trail systems sucessfully and peaceably share. We can too.

Dear Municipalities you all been hijacked by the rail trail initiative group AKA 4.6 meter paved bike trail group

I am an avid horse enthusiast and would love to have something like this available as there is not as many areas like this anymore to be able to enjoy long scenic rides! I'm all for it! Dogs, people, horses, bikes let's enjoy our home even more year round! I would even love to see this for snow shoeing as well!
