Where the undersigned citizens of Brazoria, Fort Bend, Matagorda & Wharton counties oppose the scheme by Port Freeport & the Brazoria Fort Bend Raul District to use eminent domain to seize land for a railroad from Freeport to Kendleton, and beyond. This project will have a devastating impact on landowners through reduced property values, impaired access to land across railroad tracks, flooding issues, lower quality of life, noise pollution, etc. Any benefit of having a second rail to serve Port Freeport would be far outweighed by the cost to taxpayers and landowners.
