When I attended LGHS, the student body was overwhelmingly white and the curriculum was not representative of the demographics of our country. I feel that did us all (students, faculty, and community) a great disservice. As long as this imbalance exists and it is not acknowledged and corrected, racism will continue to be an issue there, and a thread that runs through all our lives. Young millennials especially are primed to be fighters for this social learning and justice and for civil rights, but for that to happen, the adults around them need to step up and provide the critical structure, information, and context. I am mortified to see a story like this coming from LGHS, but I know that committed faculty and administrators can and will step up to make this right.

Please show children what inclusivity and acceptance is. They are our future.

Deepen the students understanding of the humanity they so openly disrespect. Get the entire student body examining the affluent roots of their racism. Do them and us all a favor before sending them out into the world. It's not too late. We hope.

Yep this is what LGHS and the entire school district is like and what it is known for. The school responded talkin' about "values of inclusion and belonging that are integral to the school culture at Los Gatos High School". This statement from the school actually legit made me LOL like do they really believe that??. The school culture in Los Gatos is for white americans only. I went to RJ Fisher Jr High and then LGHS for a year and it was the worst experience of my life. If you aren't White American, without a disability.... you will get spit on, insulted, made fun of, and physically attacked. This doesn't happen in other communities and I moved around quite a bit growing up.

I hope the kids involved understand the implications of what they have done.

My grandchildren will be attending school here in a few years. It is sickening to think that something like this would take place in any community but especially this on.

Act now to show LGSHSD is as angry and upset as the community. It's a black mark on a highly regarded school, one I've admired in the past and supported as a long-time parent volunteer.

My niece went to lg high school and this is appalling. It's is a primarily white school and clearly needs to implement cultural awareness and sensitivity to its students and faculty.

Racism should not be acceptable in any form and not addressing it implies the school condones this behavior.

This kind of crap would have never been permitted without major consequences during my time at LGHS! What in the world has happened to the faculties sense of responsibility and sense of right and wrong? Shameful period!

Racism like this doesn't belong in Los Gatos or any part of the Bay Area. People have to learn consequences for their offensive actions.

I'm not an alum, but am horrified that a school administration would not take more direct action.
