Interesting that I shared this horrible piece of Los Gatos Hight School History with someone last night, at the Westmont High School Graduation. I am class of 1983 and although we know the town and highschool have been wroght with intilement, arrogance and drugs...I actually questioned that this young man may have known the meaning of "Black Face". Since then, more news came out on him and his family and the school unwillingess to ban this young man from graduation and hold him accountable. Hate speach will no longer be tolerated in this town or this country. after all of these years, I hope this boy found this out and I hope it was the hard way.

I am a member of the class of 1971 and agree that the school board and administration need to take a strong stance to create a culture of inclusiveness at Los Gatos high school. It has been a long time since I was a member of the community . I do know that there was intolerance back in the 1970s. It takes strong leadership to reverse this climate. I urge you strongly to lead.

I hope the attention-seeking of a few ignorant teens doesn't get more attention than it deserves. I can only assume they are out of ideas for rebellion against societal norms. But they will be ashamed one day for propagating hate.

As a veteran teacher and a mother of biracial children, I find this so disheartening.

This is unconscionable! It is horrific; I would be appalled to think that Student Body thought this was okay and "the thing to do". Where were the adults and the administration?

Honestly this shouldn't even be a petition, this should have happened automatically if the staff know what they are doing...they don't.

It is reprehensible that the adults allow this behavior to continue. The staff needs to be replaced.

What happened is reprehensible and should be addressed by the administration immediately that racial acts will not be tolerated and the guilty parties punished to the full letter of the law!

This situation is very troubling on so many levels. This school's administration has a responsibility to respond and take action. These posters are symptoms of a much larger problem.
