Banning an artist for expressing a view that upholds the principles of single sex spaces set down in law is disgraceful. Her views are not hateful but the views of those seeking to silence her are misogynistic

I for one will never set foot in the RA again if you persist with this persecution of De Wahls and by definition all women.

Dismayed that you decided to stop selling Jess's work. Can you please publish the criteria you use for allowing items to be sold in your shop. And likewise the criteria which an artist must meet before you will allow them an exhibition. Over the years I have spent a great deal at the RA - exhibitions/catalogues/items from shop/cafe etc No more.

This is harassment and bullying from the Royal Academy pure and simple - a breach of its official regulations as a UK-registered & UK-based Charity. The Charity Commission must now investigate as her views on gender are protected.

Art about women’s sex based reality and existence is not transphobia.

Is art allowed to be thought provoking anymore, or is the Royal Academy just going to be pushing Soviet style propaganda art?

What a disgraceful act of persecution carried out against this female artist in the name of "inclusivity". Woman is not a feeling, it is a biological reality. Take a look at the pictures hanging on your walls once in a while for a reminder. Shame on the RA.

Will you be banning any male artists?

What has happened to the world of art? Is it now open only to those who hold the absurd belief that men can be women?

Jess's comments reflect the known and widely understood facts around the dimorphism of human sex. This is not hateful and to cave in to extremists in this way is unacceptable. Jess is owed reinstatement and a public apology.

Ridiculous bowing to a small number of militant nutters.

I was horrified to learn you have removed the artwork of Jess De Wahls from your shop, based purely on the spiteful accusations of men's rights activists. Meanwhile, you continue to feature the works of Eric Gill, who raped his own daughter. The hypocrisy and misogyny evident in your decision-making process are breathtaking. Women are being terrorized by men for simply wanting to retain our rights, safety, privacy, and dignity, and you are facilitating this harassment by caving to demands of the very individuals who are determined to erase women entirely from public life. Not only is your action reprehensible, but it is also ILLEGAL, as gender-critical views are protected by law, per the Maya Forstater case. I implore you to reinstate the works of Jess De Wahls to your shop immediately. Punishing women for defending our rights sends a dangerous message to men that our freedoms can be erased if they simply find our thoughts offensive. It's stunning that you fail to see the harm this causes for half of the world's population.

There are two genders. Life is unfair. Deal with it.

I think that Jess is not transphobic and is merely stating facts

I hope this woman takes you to court. This is wrong on so many levels. Women are under attack and male allies need to stand with them.

RA has been captured by a cult-mentality and too afraid to stand up for what's right and decent. You promote murderers, rapists and abusers but a woman who believes in biology and that sex is immutable, no you cannot tolerate that. A handful of extremists complained and you wet your pants. Disgraceful

Stop silencing women. Stop taking away women's livelihood. Follow the law.
