Art is Freedom! This cowardly act of censorship is contemptible!

Shocking behaviour by Royal Academy - to refuse to sell an artist work and casually label her transphobic. Whilst displaying paintings by child molesters. If there is no resinstatement I hope Jess sues the RA.

This is an appalling thing to do to a women…she holds the same very reasonable view as many people…a view which is backed by the law

censure is never a good look for a Royal Academy of Arts. Even less so when it's because the artist has been standing up for the rights of women

The RA is full of pictures of naked women. Yet you cancel a woman who celebrates what real women are.

Perhaps you'd like to remove the work of the many misogynist artists? No? Thought not

The artist and their work must be separate or there will be nothing left. That said, read what she wrote and look deep.

This is misogyny pure and simple. It’s against the law.

Jess is a genius. Jealous nobodies should not be allowed to damage her reputation, even worse when this is repeated by a major institution. They should apologise and reinstate her work.

Capitulation to the mob again. I support Jess and her views on gender wholeheartedly.

The RA should be challenging orthodoxy, not embedding it.

The RA is supposed to be impartial and show all works... Art is subjective. If we start with this artist, why not have a clear out of all and any mysoginistic work/artists too... (Oh, but then 50% + of the academy would have empty walls!)

Unbelievable that De Wahl is being cancelled for supporting the rights of women and girls.

This is an attack on free speech against women concerned about their legal rights. Having ‘right-think’ is a very dangerous thing, especially in the arts where all should be free to explore ideas and issues of the day.
