Unbelievable Assist Ambulance Executives! Mr Reid is a veteran EMT professionals dedicated to the mission of saving lives and providing quality care to "ALL" patients. Isn't this the same exact quality Assist Ambulance advertises on it web-pages. Practice What You Preach Assist Ambulance! Give him back his job with all of his lost pay due to Assist Ambulance Leadership's bone head fumble!!!!!! Mr Reid you deserve a medal ! v/r Steve

I may live across the country in Idaho but I see this as a big blunder on Assist's part. This man is indeed a hero in my eyes and you should reinstate him with a generous raise in order to keep him. Shame on Assist for treating him this way! With any luck he probably has a better company to work for now that will appreciate him. Praying for him and Noelia.

Fired for doing what he was trained to do - saving a life? There are exceptions to all rules. This is an example of one of them.

I think the management at ASSIST AMBULANCE forgot that EMT stands for "Emergency Medical Technician"! EMT's are trained to respond to emergencies and save lives. Apparently, ASSIST Ambulance believes that an EMT should only try to save a life if an Assist Ambulance customer specifically calls on the phone and asks for an Assist Ambulance to come. But if someone just happens to be dying right there in front of you, you're supposed just look the other way and say "Sorry, we're busy. Go call 911". I guess you could say ASSIST AMBULANCE has a Non-Assist policy! I volunteered for 2 ambulance squads when I was younger, and was also a Police Explorer and Special Police Officer. I think this ambulance company's policy and the disciplinary action that was taken is a disgrace!

Shame on assist ambulance for firing this young man for saving a life when no one else would! His patient was not left completely alone -- there was the aide there. He is the only one who did anything to help this little girl from dying and he gets in trouble!?! I don't want him to have to go back to such a pathetic company! But he should be reinstated for record purposes. He deserves a better company to work for, and I hope he gets it!!!!
