Reactivating the rockaway line that parallels Woodhaven/Corssbay Blvd would encourage commuters to take the train and lessen congestion on this particular stretch of roadway, one of the major North South routes in queens.

The popukation of the Rockaways has increased significantly with a large number of new housing developments and new apartment buildings. Current transportation links are insufficient for the population. When you add to that the increase in tourism now that Rockaway is a travel destination, the need for a direct rail link to Manhattan is obvious.

Southern Queens has been ignored for far too long. Restoring this rail line not only helps commuters it helps the environment. Something that’s allegedly very important today.

The existing ROW, close proximity to subway connections, and current abysmal state of Queens transit make this a no-brainer.

I have been saying this for 5 years, why do we have to travel through Manhattan to get to South Queens or even the beaches.

We are dreadfully underserved. Please restore the line and provide a much needed north/ south route to south Queens.

We have more than enough parks in central and southern Queens. What we need severely is transportation. Those advocating for the park obviously have never travelled along Woodhaven and Cross Bay Boulevards during rush hours. And revival of the line WILL NOT shake homes, interrupt sleep or telephone calls, or rattle dishes. The A train runs right behind homes on Hawtree Street, people live along the J and Z lines on Jamaica Avenue, and here in Howard Beach we live with planes flying right over our homes. Karen Koslowitz's constituents can relax, their dishes are safe.

Please reactivate the QueensRail. We need better train service not more parks in an area that is already full of parks.

I support this petition because I grew up in Atlantic Beach, New York for over thirty years and used the A train from Mott Avenue Far Rockaway. I remember those long rides through East New York, Clinton Hill before you went into Mnahattan. It's time to support Lew Simon and his chardge to restore the Queens shortcut for the "A" train from the Rockaway Peninsula.
