We need transit equity and sustainable economic development in Queens. Get people out of cads and into low emissions, frequent, reliable, and affordable mass transit. Let’s extend the M train south to Rockaways on the Rockaway Beach Branch right of way, and create parks alongside it as much as possible.

I have a letter written by my father (who passed away in 1998) that makes the case for reopening the White Pot Junction Line.
With the shift toward green commuting, an expanding population in Southern Queens, and an oft stated desire by politicians to give equity of access to quality transportation for the purpose of getting to/from work, one must wonder why NYS and NYC have not revitalized this line and mode of transportation. (PS this platform and many others can’t handle the apostrophe in my name and somehow we will have self-driving cars? LOL. #allowapostrophes LOL

Subway expansion is needed to serve the commuting needs of this region of Queens. by investing in this reactivation, not only will commuting needs be met, but more cars will be removed on this already heavily traveled route.

We need this important connection. Car and Buses are not the answer to north south access in Queens. The right of way is already there, it’s time to reactivate the rockaway beach line for faster access to midtown from the Rockaways and south Queens.
