As active members of society, our civic action project has been centered around the controversial issue of gun control. We have proposed that implemented into the firearm permit renewal process, in the State of Connecticut, should be psychological testing and universal background checks. According to our research further background checks that would check for criminal history in prior years in every state after having obtained a firearm permit and psychological testing would guarantee that those best fit for eligibility are permitted such a responsibility. Ultimately, such precautionary measures would decrease gun violence in the State of Connecticut.
