I think that since we are not getting any half days anymore that we should get our days off else where. Wether it be in a holiday break, or to begin summer break even sooner.

A two or three day extension would help greatly, not only for students but for faculty as well. The way the schedule is set now, they expect us to be back to school right after New Year's? People have families in other states, or even across the country, and it's upsetting how many of us, students and teachers alike, would not be able to spend the New Year with them because we're all rushing to get ready for school.

Please understand that the reason for this is not a mere two days off. It is, in fact, a reward of sorts that allows for students who have worked tirelessly through first semester to take a well deserved break. By forcing students to attend school for the last two days of the week, the likelihood of true learning and valuable instruction time is low. Please consider this request as it is both necessary and viable and serves to ensure that school time is not wasted and students are well rested to begin second semester.

This is the only time we have to get with our families who don't live close. I need those extra two days to spend time with my family. It's not gonna cut into the curriculum because we will have those full days now so it really doesn't make a difference.

This is a time for family and love. Going back to school early will only take away from our experience.
