Because there will be no midterms we will be gaining about 5 days of instruction. I think it is important for students to have a winter break long enough to relieve all the stress out on by school. Also, spring break is late this year so we will be going a longer period of time without so much as a 3 day weekend.

I will be flying back from my grandparents the day before and would really anticipate the extra couple days to get all my homework done so I can spend valuable time with my family. I can only see them when we have enough money to fly to them and would really apriciate not having to do homework while at their house.

A longer break of just two days wouldn't hurt honestly and I feel like most people wouldn't mind it either both teachers and students; but the possibility of our asinine school board won't allow even half days.

Getting these two extra days is really important to all the families in PWC.
In order to meet the days in school requirement, school would need to add a few days instruction if this petition succeeds. Extending the Christmas break to Jan 6 (Epiphany, (aka Little, and Greek Christmas) is good idea,as Kwanzaa is also included. So start school earlier - before Labor Day. No good? Extend school in June to get the days and hours instruction all children --(in the USA need to keep up with the rest of the First World, such as the French!) Kids need MORE school time, not less. Holidays are nice to recognize, and so are instruction hours. Seems half days count as a full day according to the arcane school figuring as instruction time. The reasoning for this petition by somebody's grandson is obscure and not logical, says Mr. Spock. -- says Bananafan

Part of our break was taken away by the loss of the half days for midterms. We also already have a short Christmas break so we need a bigger break.
