I believe that Christmas Break should be extended. Being in a military family, this break is one of the few times my entire family can be together. Also travels to visit family out of state are always cut short because of this awkward date to return to school. I along with many others would appreciate this extension. Thank you.

My parents are always away for work and this is one of the few times I get to spend with then a year when they are home

I need sleep otherwise I don't do good in school. This only stresses is students out even more.

It would be better for everyone. Not to mention safer. For New Years many people will go crazy and possibly get drunk and I know that you might be thinking oh their teens they're not allowed to. The sad fact is some do. And then they might try to go to school afterwards. The alcohol or whatever else caused their intoxicated behavior might still have it's effect in ten by the time try get to school. This puts others lives in danger because what if these students drive you would be putting countless innocent lives at stake for these 2 school days. Plus when they get to school they might just become out of controllably violent or just have such odd mood swings that they end up doing something regrettable. Plus most people might not even go to school anyway due to it being right after new years so the county would end up wasting money on heating, electricity, water, services, and teacher salaries because not even the majority of people would go to school.
