Its absolutely ridiculous to come back for 2 days and then to have a weekend. Those 2 days would be a complete waste of class time and teachers would be pressured to do something constructive. Furthermore because of midterms no class time is lost anyway. This is just logical.

I remember winter break being almost 2 weeks long. That resulted in us being able to really rest and reset.

I thought the school system is trying to save electricity. Why waste resources by opening the buildings for only 2 days. Please use common sense.

My dad has been in Afghanistan for the past 3 years and I only get to see him every 3-4 months. Unfortunately, he won't be home at Christmas but will be arriving home for a short stay roughly two days after. Because Christmas wouldn't be the same without him, we've pushed back our Christmas celebrations to when he's home. My family will be going skiing for new years and that Thursday and Friday. There is nothing I want more than to spend time with my dad but coming back January 2nd would put a dent to our plans that we've had for quite a while. Regardless of having school or not, I will not be in attendance those days because I believe spending the little time I get with my dad is more important than two days of school. So I ask for these two days of school off so It won't be extra stress on my plate. Hopefully this petition works.

This is an excellent idea. It makes so much sense to extend because of the few students who will be stuck in an airport rather than at school.

Every year the only time I get to see my father is over winter break. Without having two weeks I won't be able to go see him and my sisters. Please this extension would be a great help so I can see my dad because with the break we have now my parents don't have the time off work to drive to have me go so we need the two extra days so it can happen on the weekends. PLEASE!
