Just give the Thrusday, January 2nd and Friday, January 3rd off. Its bad enough they have to go to school till Tuesday, June 17th. Christmas break has been getting shorter and shorter every year but school seems to extend long into the year.

Make it longer!!! nobody will be in school if you cut the days shorter
Absolutely! Many children will not be back on Thurs and Fri anyway. And they will be wasted days for the children that are there.

Most parents just have to pull their students for travel plans anyway. High School students definitely need the rest since my daughter has to be picked up for school one hour and 15 minutes before the first bell. Time to do the right thing for everyone.
