From what does Mr. Sawyer think he's protecting kids who identify as transgender? The bathrooms provided for both genders are of equal quality. There is no "back-of-the-bus" accommodations to upgrade from. And if there is concern for bullying - does he believe encouraging - even forcing this policy upon our students will really foster goodwill?
But none of this is the point is it? - I don't believe the liberal leadership is truly concerned about the whole transgender issue - rather - this is just another excuse to abuse their authority to cripple anyone who opposes their moral relativism. It's an excuse to sue and even jail anyone who stands up for the traditional values this country was founded upon and has served us so well.
These last 50 years have been an experiment in abandoning God's laws in favor of man's opinions. Broken homes, abandonment of civility, abuse, drugs, class hatred, on and on . . . Are we really better off? What else could possibly be to blame?
This egregious effort to further send us - especially our children - further down this slope of societal suicide will only serve as a rallying cry for parents to patriots to protect our children.

I feel that a vote on this issue at this time is premature and imprudent, even reckless, in that not enough time has been allowed to publicize the suggested amendment to the citizens of PWC and allow for thorough discussion and understanding of the implications and consequences of such a change to the nondiscrimination policy.
Certainly this proposed change has potential to affect school aged children of all families in the county, and should.not be rushed into before careful.consideration of the social and legal issues involved.

The only apparent reason to bring this vote up with so little notice is to sneak it through without the public knowing about it.
Experience in other states has already shown perverts will use this opportunity to conveniently identify as the opposite gender just to ogle the opposite sex in a bathroom or locker room. There must be a responsible way to find a solution without diminishing the rights of privacy held by the majority.

1st, Brentsville should be seated....2nd, a "come on people"- just about everyone here in these comments-no one will let boys in girls locker rooms or girls in boys-this will look like where mainstream urban america is going - there will boys, girls, and/or "family"' style bathrooms exclusively..go to the big city and see for yourself-no one is hurt by a gender neutral bathroom situation...some places only have 'general bathrooms' today to accomodate....seriously...?..the language will eventually reflect this but agree it should be postponed until it does.

Students should not be forced to be exposed to students of opposite biological gender in bathrooms or locker rooms. Students have the right to privacy and they have the right to a non-threatening environment.

Very dissatisfied. The rights of a few should not infringe on the rights of the majority. If one of my young girls see a penis in the bathroom as a result of this I will sue the school board.

My request to the board and all parents of Prince William County, is to denied a vote on the proposed change until the school board has adequately investigated the legal and social impact of this proposal. To my opinion, to change the current regulations will generate more problems instead solving any that some schools may have; it will create more discrimination in the schools. All the many, time and the effort that is going to be use in litigations should be invested on improvements to our schools and specifically in Special Education Programs that will benefit our children with special needs.
